Upload VR made a triumphant return at E3 with its third annual presentation of the most innovative and intriguing VR games. Year after year, as the medium matures, it continues to offer a platform for developers to create. While not all of the games on display were brand new releases, we selected five of our favorite Upload VR games from the event that you can expect to play shortly.
There are a lot of great rhythm Upload VR games, but Unplugged has the coolest hook. It’s an air guitar game, which means you’ll be playing with just your hands thanks to hand-tracking technologies on Quest and other supporting PC VR. Even better, the new teaser reveals that you will be able to play The Offspring’s “The Kids Aren’t Alright.” This fall, it will be released.
Song In The Smoke
Song in the Smoke is a VR survival game developed by 17-Bit, best known for cartoony indie games like Skulls of the Shogun and Galak-Z. It was first announced for PSVR earlier this year. Jake Kazdal, the studio’s CEO, describes how virtual reality inspired him to build more than just a game, but a fully live and breathing environment in a new developer diary. This summer, it will be available for Oculus Rift and Quest, as well as PSVR.
Nerf Ultimate Championship
Who remembers Nerf battles? Although the announcement trailer doesn’t reveal much, it looks beautiful, the Nerf weapons look fantastic, and it’s from Emmy-winning VR firm Secret Location. It will be available exclusively on Oculus in 2022.
A Township Tale
A Township Tale, which will be available on Oculus Quest on July 15th, is an open world VR RPG that brilliantly respects the fact that you and everybody else lack legs. In an immersive fantasy world, you’ll be able to establish a new identity as a blacksmith, minter, woodcutter, warrior, or archer.
Sushi Ben VR
Upload VR showcase also comprise Sushi Ben VR. You must keep your favorite sushi establishment from going out of business in this gorgeous cel-shaded game. Nevertheless, instead of serving sushi, your goal is to persuade others to visit, so there’s a lot more of a story focus, which is enhanced by some colorful manga-style comic book panels. It will arrive in 2022.
