Michael Keaton: The Oscar-nominated actor, according to The Wrap, is in the early stages of talks with DC about reprising the part he last played in 1992’s Batman Returns. The Birdman star will feature in The Flash, a solo outing for the character of Ezra Miller who was featured in Batman v Superman before also featuring in the League of Justice.
How big or small the role would be, is not yet clear. After Dope’s Rick Famuyiwa left the project in 2016, the Flash is expected to be directed by The filmmaker Andy Muschietti. The plot is supposed to ignore the two
Joel Schumacher Batman movies, and continue after Batman Returns. It is based on Flashpoint’s 2011 comic that sees The Flash travel back in time to save its mother.
Robert Pattinson will officially take on the role in The Batman after Ben Affleck has retired from playing the caped crusader, a noirish take on the character from Cloverfield director Matt Reeves.
The news comes only weeks after Zack Snyder has revealed he is working on a longer version of the Justice League to debut on HBO Max while Henry Cavill could return as Aquaman and Shazam as Superman in sequels. The next dated DC film is the 1984 Wonder Woman, scheduled to be released in October.
Michael Keaton was last seen in Tim Burton’s Dumbo, and his next projects entail Worth’s 9/11 drama and Chicago’s The Trial of Aaron Sorkin 7. He is also rumored to be returning in Sony’s Morbius as Spider-Man villain Vulture.
