Call of Duty: Season 4 of Modern Warfare was expected to appear on June 3, bringing in new weapons, operators and maps to build up multiplayer options for the game. But then, Activision announced the launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare season 4, “now is not the time”

The explanation for this is that the organization does not want to detract from the continuing riots in the U.S. and around the world over the murder of George Floyd by a Minneapolis police officer, Derek Chauvin. Activision has also agreed, in support of the #BlackLivesMatter campaign, to put new seasons for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, the standalone Call of Duty: Warzone mode and Call of Duty: Mobile on hold.

Call of Duty fans would still have to wait for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 4 to start for a little longer. But meanwhile, all we know about the upcoming season is here.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 4 Release Date and Delay

Call of Duty: Season 4 of Modern Warfare was expected to release June 3, but it has now been indefinitely postponed.

“While we all look forward to playing the new seasons of Modern Warfare, Warzone and Call of Duty: Mobile, now is not the time,” a statement from the official Call of Duty account stated. “We are moving the launches of Modern Warfare Season 4 and Call of Duty: Mobile Season 7 to later dates.”

“Right now it’s time for those speaking up for equality, justice and change to be seen and heard. We stand alongside you,” he said. Although Activision did not specifically refer to the #BlackLivesMatter campaign, the tweet referred to the demonstrations against police violence against black people in the United States.

Some fans might be disappointed by such a move, but Activision recognizes a very important issue in the U.S. and beyond. And we support the Black Lives Matter movement at Tom’s Guide and our publisher Future too.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 4 Leaks

There is not much reported so far for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare season 4. But we can expect possibly new operators, weapons, maps and characters.

A YouTuber labeled TheXclusiveAce has a video breakdown of the latest weapons anticipated in Call of Duty : Modern Warfare Season 4, having plumbed the code depths leaked at Reddit. These include the Galil assault rifle and a Vector submachine gun called ‘Fennec.’ Both weapons were previously in the Call of Duty series and the next season could mark their return.

It is expected that a suite of operators will arrive in season 4 of Call of Duty Modern Warfare, notably Call of Duty Mainstay Captain Price, seen in an official teaser. But Kyle ‘Gaz; Garrick is also supposed to make an appearance from Call of Duty Modern Warfare’s campaign.

Farah will also emerge as an operator for multiplayer mode from the new game campaign, but she may not arrive at the start of season 4. Also included in the season 4 patch code was a list of other operators with names which do not appear to be from either the current or previous Call of Duty titles.

Other features included in the leaked code were weapons banners, which will help mean you have completed all the ‘camo challenges’ for different firearms. For the rifle, the banner goes alongside the unlocked camo template. And there will be more camo skins available for the guns, including very difficult ones such as “mounted long-shot kills”

Finally, the multiplayer is expected to take on new game modes. The first could be a new juggernaut mode, in which you have to fight to take over a strong mech suit for your team mate.

Another mode called ‘jailbreak’ tends to be a way out of the gulag found in the Warzone battle royale. Players are thrown into the gulag after they die, and are then set free in a chaotic search for freedom at once. A mode called ‘TDM Anywhere’ may be 50 vs. 50 deathmatch mode for the squad.

Many reports have mentioned a variety of other modes, but nothing concrete has been present to indicate that they will appear in season 4.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 4 Map

Call of Duty Modern Warfare is scheduled to feature five new multiplayer maps, but some may not appear in time for season four. The maps include Field, Broadcast, Oil Rig, Scrapyard, and Harbor according to the leaks. Broadcast and Scrapyard are both maps which can be found in Call of Duty 4.

New Gunfight mode maps are also planned, Drainage being the first and Townhouse is the second. Townhouse is theoretically a reference to the urban project in the campaign of Modern Warfare.

Train and Trench were both maps included in the code for Gunfight. But, besides their titles, there was no information on what they would do.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 4 Battle Pass

The battle pass for Call of Duty: Season 4 of Modern Warfare is supposed to follow the format of past season passes. According to PC Gamer, the pass would give a new operator and 100 thirds of content for $9.99 or 1,000 COD Points to advance through.

A $19.99 or 2,400 COD Points bundle of battle passes will allow players to skip 20 thirds. But by collecting COD Points, people who do not want to pay for the privilege can easily work their way up the levels.

All in all, the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 4 is shaping up to deliver a very good chunk of content for multiplayer modes in Modern Warfare, as well as several features that are likely to make their way to Warzone. And while you may have to wait a little longer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare season 4, it will be worth it, presumably.
